Our goal is to maintain a safe, clean, peaceful, and respectful home where everyone can live comfortably.

Community house rules

At Humanity Group Homes, house rules are designed to balance personal independence with mutual respect. We provide an affordable, comfortable, and dignified living environment for seniors, veterans, and adult residents where safety, cleanliness, and peace of mind always come first.

Frequently asked questions about our house rules

Review our core community standards and guidelines below to understand how we maintain a supportive, secure, and respectful household for every resident.

What are your top non-negotiable safety rules?

Our non-negotiable safety standards include a zero-tolerance policy for violence, fighting, threats, intimidation, and illegal activity. No weapons or dangerous items prohibited by law or the resident agreement are allowed on the property. Any immediate safety emergency or violent behavior results in an immediate call to 911.

What is the policy on drugs, alcohol, and smoking?

No illegal drugs or unprescribed controlled substances are permitted on the property at any time. Smoking and vaping are strictly prohibited inside the home; designated outdoor smoking areas may be provided where applicable.

What are the rules regarding quiet hours and curfew?

Quiet hours are established each evening to ensure all residents can rest and sleep comfortably. TVs, music, and conversations must be kept at a considerate volume. Any property return hours or curfew policies are shared prior to move-in and outlined in the resident agreement.

How are shared spaces and bedrooms kept clean?

Residents are responsible for keeping their private bedrooms reasonably clean and sanitary. Shared common areas—including kitchens, living spaces, and bathrooms—must be cleaned up immediately after use to maintain a dignified, healthy space for everyone.

Can family members and friends visit?

Yes. Approved visitors and family members are welcome during established visiting hours. Management maintains reasonable limits on guest numbers, frequency, and visit duration to protect resident privacy, security, and peaceful living.

Are overnight guests permitted?

Overnight guests require prior written approval from management. All guests must strictly adhere to the house rules, including conduct, noise, and substance-free policies, and residents remain responsible for their visitors at all times.

How do these rules keep the home comfortable rather than institutional?

Our policies focus on mutual consideration, personal boundaries, and shared accountability. Rather than treating adults like patients, we foster an independent, dignified home setting where everyone works together to maintain a clean, peaceful, and safe community.

What happens if a resident struggles to follow a rule?

We prioritize private conversations and clear reminders to identify solutions. With resident authorization, we also collaborate with case managers, sponsors, or family members. However, repeated violations or direct threats to safety will result in formal warnings or immediate discharge.
